We decided to give ourselves a bit of a break from work and the cold and joined others today at NeueHouse to make cakes with a talented female pastry chef, Margaret Braun, and author of Cakewalk: Adventures in Sugar with Margaret Braun. We learned all about fondant and how to decorate with a frosting-filled pastry bag. Plum Alley’s Joan, Carol and Tina created masterpieces with gorgeous food-safe paint and glammed up their adorable cakes with 24-carat edible gold leaf and a mixture of almond oil, gold glitter.
